After completing a Master of Business Administration program in the 80’s, Chris Slijkhuis worked as Benelux Sales and Marketing Manager and subsequently as European Business Development Manager in numerous EU countries for a global logistics services company. He founded a number of companies in the Central and Eastern European region in the 90’s (Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary) and he moved to Austria with his family in 1994.
He joined the fast growing Electronics Manufacturing Services company Flextronics in 2000 where he was Director Supply Chain Management in European HQ in Vienna. In this role he also worked on the development of new reverse logistics concepts for Electronics Waste at the time the EU WEEE directive was introduced in 2004.
He joined MBA Polymers – in which Flextronics was one of the shareholders – in 2005 to develop the Global Sourcing and Supply Chain function for this E-Waste plastics recycling company.
In 2012 Chris Slijkhuis joined the Müller-Guttenbrunn Group, the Joint-Venture partner of MBA Polymers in Austria, where his activities are related to Public Affairs and E-Waste.
In the meantime, MBA Polymers Austria became a fully owned Müller-Guttenbrunn Group company and is now operating as MGG Polymers, producing Post-Consumer Recycled Plastics that can be used as drop-in replacement for virgin plastics in new electronic equipment.
Chris Slijkhuis is a board member of the European Electronics Recyclers Association EERA and in EERA he is spokesman for the recycling of E-Waste Plastics.
